Brecon Scouts
With the support of a grant from the Audrey Tyler Charity Trust, Brecon Scouts has been able to make essential improvements to their facilities, ensuring a safe, functional, and inspiring space for young people to develop skills and enjoy new experiences.
How the Grant Helped:
Upgraded Electrical System – Ensuring the Scout HQ complies with current regulations, allowing weekly meetings for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers to continue safely.
Improved Storage – Creating more space in meeting rooms for a wider range of activities.
New Bike Rack – Providing a safe, dry storage space for cycles, encouraging young people and leaders to cycle to activities.
Kayak Storage – Funding materials to build a kayak store, keeping equipment protected from sunlight and in good condition for longer.
These improvements ensure Brecon Scouts can continue offering accessible outdoor adventures and skills development for local young people, particularly through regular kayaking sessions on the Brecon Canal—an affordable, exciting activity made possible by their qualified leaders and improved equipment storage.
A Lasting Impact
By investing in these facilities, Brecon Scouts can offer more opportunities, accommodate more activities, and create a better environment for young people to thrive.
